Great Wall of China Trek

  1. Each participant must be at least 18 years of age before the departure date of the event.
  2. Your passport must have at least six months to run from the date of return to Ireland or the UK. Payment for your visa, airport tax, inoculations and personal gratuities are not included in the fundraising total.
  3. Across the Divide (ATD), with the agreement of Concern Worldwide has the right to alter the itinerary, dates, or location, should any changes in climate or any other unforeseen circumstance deem this necessary.
  4. All trekkers must be covered by travel insurance. Please note that it must include full medical cover as well as cover for a) trekking in remote locations, b) helicopter evacuation in an emergency situation, and c) repatriation to your country of residence. You can purchase the required insurance directly from ATD and details of this will be sent to you. If you decide to purchase your own travel insurance then you must provide ATD with a written guarantee from your insurance provider that you are covered for the conditions specified above, and that ATD will be fully reimbursed for any monies paid out on your behalf in the event of an emergency.
  5. Participants must be relatively fit to take part in the expeditions and must complete the medical questionnaire provided. You may be required to have a medical form signed by your doctor. By signing the entry form you are confirming that, to the best of your knowledge, your general state of health is good and that you take full responsibility for yourself. ATD reserves the right to refuse a participant if, in the opinion of ATD, he/she is medically unfit to take part.
  6. Passport control and in-country authorities will reserve the right to refuse entry.
  7. Participants take part at their own risk, and agree to indemnify ATD and Concern Worldwide against any claims of loss or damage to personal property, personal injury (or death) and any claim arising from their own actions.
  8. Participants are responsible for attending to any inoculations they may require, and must comply with any regulations or circumstances of a destination.
  9. Your personal contribution is considered a non-refundable deposit.
  10. If you are unable to meet the sponsorship requirements, you will forfeit your place on the Concern Challenge - or you may choose to make up the balance of monies yourself.
  11. Participants must carry out all methods of fundraising for the Concern Challenges in accordance with the guidelines set out in Concern's Fundraising Pack.
  12. Flights are provided and ATOL protected through Wexas International, ATOL number 2873 and its terms and conditions apply. These are available on request.

Newry to Carlingford Challenge

  • Each participant understands that the activities may be physically and mentally intense.
  • At all times participants must adhere to the instructor’s directions.
  • Participants must be physically fit and have no injuries which may affect safety during the activities.
  • The personal contribution is considered a non-refundable deposit.
  • If the sponsorship requirements are not met, participants will forfeit their place on the Concern Challenge - or they may choose to make up the balance of own monies.
  • Participants must carry out all methods of fundraising for the Concern Challenge in accordance with the guidelines set out in Concern's Fundraising Pack.

Abseil

Skydive

  1. If you are over 50  you must get a certificate from your doctor stating that you are medically fit to undertake a jump
  2. Each participant must be at least 18 years of age before the date of the jump.  If you are between the ages of sixteen or eighteen you must have a parent or guardian accompany you to the drop zone on the day of your initial training in order to sign a document saying you have their permission to participate.  Sixteen is the minimum age that you must be in order to jump.
  3. Maximum weight - 210lbs and proportional to height, age and sex.
  4. Pervious injurires and previous or current medical conditions must be notified to the Course Instructor prior to commencing a training course.
  5. Your personal contribution is considered a non-refundable deposit.
  6. If you are unable to meet the sponsorship requirements, you will forfeit your place on the Concern Challenge - or you may choose to make up the balance of monies yourself.
  7. Participants must carry out all methods of fundraising for the Concern Challenge in accordance with the guidelines set out in Concern's Fundraising Pack.
  8. It is understood that weather conditions dictate when parachuting can take place.
