How much do I have to fundraise for the event?
To secure a place on the Concern team for the ING New York Marathon you will need to pay a deposit of €150 and then reach the fundraising target of €3450 by the 10th October.
How do I sign up to take part?
First you will need to click here to register. Once we have received your deposit we will send you out your booking form and race entry form to complete. Once that has been completed and returned to Concern we will then send you out our Welcome Pack so that you can get started with your fundraisng.
Will there be any fundraising deadlines?
Yes, we will need to receive certain amounts of your fundraising by certain dates. If you DO NOT lodge your fundraising by the following dates we will have to cancel your placement (all target amounts are EXCLUDING your deposit):
- 10th July €500
- 10th August €1150 (50% of the fundraising target)
- 10th September €1080 (80% of the fundraising target)
- 10th October €720 (total of the fundraising target)
What does my fundraising cover:
Approximately 50% of your fundriaisng target will cover the cost of the tour:
- Return flights from Dublin to JFK incl Irish government tax, US arrivals and departure taxes, airline security charges.
- 4 nights Accommodation at hotel as booked, including city tax, occupancy tax, US tourist tax and obligatory baggage charges.
- Return Airport transfers in New York on tour dates.
- Transport to the race start on Staten Island (runners only).
- Guaranteed Marathon Race Entry, which includes International Friendship Run Entry, an excellent Pasta Party, Post-Race Party & Disco, Sports Expo, 2 New York City Marathon T-Shirts, Certificate and Medal.
- A Celebration Dinner on Monday 8th November at a typical Manhattan venue.
- Travel Insurance
- Services of Sports Travel International guides.
- The security of a fully Licensed and Bonded travel agency.
The other 50% will be put into our Primary Education in Africa fund.
