John Treacy Classic

On Sunday 16th May 2010 County Waterford invites you to pay tribute to John Treacy and run or walk the roads of West Waterford, made famous as the training ground of one of Ireland’s greatest sportsmen.
John Treacy Classic

John Treacy is a name which is synonymous with the highest levels of athletic achievement over the course of an illustrious sporting career. He is almost always mentioned in the same breath as his native County Waterford and his picturesque home village of Villierstown in the scenic Dromana area of West Waterford.

The 2009 John Treacy Classic came about because of the high esteem that this great athlete is held in not only in his native Villierstown but right across County Waterford. The second edition of this great event will be held on Sunday 16th May 2010. 901 runners, joggers and walkers took part in what was a very memorable event.
